And the camp site is in Big Sur on a cliff overlooking the ocean. You can see whales and otters and other sea creatures frolicking in the waves. And it's not like we sit at camp all day. We like to do day trips to nearby areas, go wine tasting, whale watching, Hearst Castle, lots of stuff to do. AND, the BF does all the cooking, so that's a definite plus.
The BF got me a bronze sculpture of a momma otter and a a baby otter floating on a kelp bed. I love otters and I had seen it over the summer and really wanted it. I had no idea he got it and was really surprised. BUT, we had agreed we weren't going to do any big gifts this year. LIAR! All I had gotten him was a crappy CD. So now I've also gotten him a couple sweaters, more CD's, a fancy pen, and flip flops, lol.
And Jules, I saw Avatar 3D over the weekend and I thought it was really awesome!!!
Cheryl... making your own traditions with a small family sounds like the very best kind.
See Boag, this is how I go camping in the summer, lol. But HEY, its still camping damni. I hope you have a great time, and use protection.lol.
Well, we have a big Christmas snow storm on the menu for Mn. I like storms of all kinds, so I am okay w/ this. plus we don't have far to travel, about 4 miles round trip, lol.

You know I am pretty sad about something this holiday season.
My Best Friend and her sister, I have known them for about 20 years. All 3 of us were pregnant at the same time and our daughters are 6 months apart. They're both my friends, but anyway, my Bf's sisters little girl was diagnosed w/ an inoperable brain tumor, just this past Oct, I saw Nadia that day just before they got the news. She was then sent down to Tn to St. Judes they were there for about 2 months. Well they just came back home this past Thursday, there is nothing more they can do for Nadia. This is just so sad, I don't know how to make sense of a little kid being sent home to die, they have hospice now. Nadia is suppose to turn 6 on Jan 11th, she can no longer talk, eat, ( she has a feeding tube), lost all her hair from radiation and chemo that she had. Lina her Mom just wants to be able to talk to her little girl one more time and I don't know if that will happen. So if you pray, say a prayer for Nadia to be able to talk to her Mommy one more time. OMG, this just breaks my heart!!
I try to remember this when I tell my kids to be quiet all the time, how I should be grateful that I can still hear my little kids voices. If anyone wants to read their story, you can go to caring bridge, click on visit and then type in nadiasmith (one word). Anyway if you have kids, give them a big hug. |

Oh jesus, Meems. That is awful awful awful!!! I'm telling you, I don't know how parents go through something like this. I mean seriously, how the hell do you do this????
That poor family.
And you guys were all pregnant at the same time, Meems???? Damn. You must just look at your daughter and burst into tears thinking about it.
I'm so sorry that your friend is going through this, Meems. I hope the little girl isn't in too much pain.
I just HATE hearing about sick children. It's just not right.

Wow, Meems, here I was all ready to make bad jokes about BOAG and camping etc...your post was an eye opener today since sometimes I forget as much as my girls (one in particular) is driving me bonkers they are both healthy (thank God) I see so much sickness everyday and become immune to it, but never little kids. That's just awful and yes, I will remember them in my prayers..
On to different things today. Julie, I think we are going to see The Brothers with Jake Gyllenhaal and the Spider man guy? That or the Nelson Mandella one. When we first started doing this about 10 years ago, there was no one there at the theaters except the Non-Christians and it was funny because they'd yell to each other across the theater, "Hey Saul" "Hey Abraham" etc...
BOAG-when you put your camping vacation like that it sounds wonderful! To us New Englanders it's just dealing with mosquito's and pine needles in a cramped tent. NOT fun at all!
Mano-I had to go to a meeting last night and I was glad I did. I ran in to this young guy newly out of rehab (same one I went to)and he had been on 8mg of sub and before sub methadone. He was beat and having terrible leg cramps still and panic attacks. I went up to him and told him I was in the same boat 6 months ago blah blah blah. I gave him this website and he said he would check it out. He said he just used to sell a few sub pills, go get high, and then use what he had left to detox, over and over. Sound familiar? He said his doctor gave him 32mg a day but he only took 8mg. WTF is wrong with these doctors, don't they get it yet???

Yeah, Cheryl, my daughter mentioned either The Brothers movie or The Blindside. I haven't been to the movies since LAST Christmas, so I think it's time to check out what's playing right now.
Oh, and I went shopping last night and ended up buying MYSELF gifts! lol I got a new comforter and sheets....and a new electric blanket! Oh, and a new blowdryer. Oh, and a new rug for my entryway, because my dogs tore up my other one, so now when people come in with wet boots and shoes.....they slip and fall cuz there's no rug there! Oh, and I also got a new "couch blanket." You know that blanket that you throw on your couch for when you're watching a movie or something???? Yeah, one of those. It's really nice. Oh, and a really nice-smelling candle from Bath & Body Works.
Okay, I think that's all I got for me.
Hey, I deserve it!
Oh, and I also got stuff for OTHER people, too. AND I have to go back out again today.
Fuck me hard.

| LOL, yeah those blankets are called "Throws". I saw "Brothers" and I didn't think it was good. I shopped for myself too, lol. But mine have to get wrapped up even though I know what they are. I'll be like Hmmm wonder what this is? But I got myself some really nice Pj's, 2 pair of slippers, one slip on, one boot like. & a pair of Pj pants. These are going to be to me from my kids. I still have to get something for my sister, ugh and then I think I am done. |

LOL! Cheryl, you discovered the secret. Many Jews traditionally mark Christmas Day by going to the movies which is quickly followed by dinner at a Chinese restaurant. |

I love my new kitten fur jock strap. I'm wearing it right now, and the air freshener was a nice touch...I haven't had to shower for 3 days now. I added a second one so there is one for each cheek now, and a nice mixture of pine and sour apple scents. It's kind of like a Christmas tree smell, KWIM?

Why do you think all the Who's down in Whoville are so happy, singing out in the cold with no presents. I obviously didn't find all of their stash, and the only reason I came back with their stupid presents was for a fix |

You're a mean one......Mr. Grinch!
But yeah, Whoville always seemed a little too happy to me. There was definitely some behind-the-scenes drug-taking going on.

Hey my SSBFF's! Took a break from being the "cookie" Mom and making hubbies traditional mushroom and onion, potato and cheese perogies? (sp?) Anyway, the 2 girls and I have been slaving for 3 hours but I must say the taste test was the BEST! We have enough for a small army so come on down! Or up and you are....Then I look around the kiitchen and it is completely trashed, and both of them are back in bed. I wonder where they get that from??
Well, so BOAG is camping on the beach, Meems is getting all her last minute gifts out and Mano? Your turning your ass into a Grinch candle?? Is that it?? Do I win?
Julie, I just LOVE going shopping for other people and finding good shit for myself. When I'm looking for me I never find a thing, but when it's for other people I find everything I've wanted. I want one of those snuggies too I'm thinking leopard, which ones did you and Ang get? I love the little built in remote pocket (not that I ever see the remote here)
The family in general is treating me better, but last night my oldest said, It seems like it's too good to be true since last Christmas I was passing out and drooling all over the place. I guess I really ruined the entire holiday and must have been in a total blackout because I honestly do not remember. I hope TT is okay, those fucking benzos and sub!!!
Arlene, you are spot on because then they would all meet at the Golden Pagoda after the movie.
We might go see the George Clooney movie Up something??
Merry Christmas everyone!! Cheryl

Merry Christmas CT (and all you freaks). That is so cool that you are good now. Mano is not a grinch, he is the fucking grinch. That is a title of endearment. CT you know your family loves you very much and just wants the best for you, I am glad to see your post.
I got my daughter the Texas Longhorn snuggie thanks to Mack in Buffalo. It was sunny here today and snowing at the same time. We got about 1000 snowflakes but they were BIG flakes. Everything really is bigger in Texas. One was the size of my windshield. Yall have a Merry Christmas and stay safe. CT here is to many many more great times for you and yours.
I would head to Mano's place tonight to Grinch out with him but it is too cold, gonna stay inside because I worked in that wind all day and I am playing this video game all night after my bud leaves. My baby will be here tmo, not tonight :( This is the first time in her life she is not spending the night with me on Christmas eve but I get her all weekend to play which is better really. Anyway it would be cool to have a SS party someday. We could all meet at the Ratch home but I'm afraid that may cause him to slit his wrists, have to meet at Mano's instead. |

Merry Christmas to all from me. I'll be glad to get this crap behind me. I cannot believe how many people wait until the last minute to go shopping. It has been a fucking nightmare the last 2 days buying gifts. This new year I am going to buy 1 present a month for my kids so as to not break my bank account. Every year we go way over board on presents IMO. Im converting into a Jehovah's Witness, they don't do Christmas.
Anyways, I'mo on my way to your house Tommy for a party, I'll bring some Crown Royal :) |

Haha...that made me crack up out loud!! I just watched da Grinch wit my Girl on Wednesday. I can still picture the " seemingly" innocent Big Blue eyes of Cinday Loo..Hoo. I spose they've evolved to red, at least the color's in season for our hero Cindy Loo. |

Merry Christmas, peeps!!!
I hope Santa was good to everyone!!
I just got back from seeing The Blindside with my daughter. It was a GREAT movie!! I loved it! I didn't even realize it was a true story til the very end!
Time to snuggle under my new electric blanket for a while. I get one every year...lol It's my dogs' favorite blanket and they LOVE to dig in it and find "just the right spot!" But they ruin it from all their digging, so every year I have to get a new one! But I stupidly got a cream-colored one. Dumb move!!! I am gonna regret this!! I should've gotten the navy-blue one! But navy-blue's so ugly!! Oh well....
Oh, and I got a new comforter and sheets, and some new candles, which I just lit, so my room smells all cinnamon-and-spicy.
Now I'm gonna relax for a bit before I make some food. I'm exhausted!!!
Hope everyone has a great day!
Merry Merry!
