Congtaulations Cheryl...Wow, 6 months is great! I'll bet this will be a much better holiday season for you.
Ang, it looks like you got more snow than us. We had about that much and then it started raining about 8am and made for a really heavy wet mess, but I got all plowed out. |

And just so you know. I did go out and play in the snow. I ate some too, lol. We wrestled, played kitty, went down the slide, swung on the swings. I pushed my sons face in the snow, after he pushed me down, lol, and we made snow angels.
Oh and I got some really cute pic's of Mimi and Georgie playing
Okay, I am off to make hot cocoa now.
Damnit, my son just reminded me we have to go to church tonight That Advent thing. but they keep track of their church attendance at the school, so I have to go |

"overheard" someone next to my office talking about the pain meds she is taking for her back problem. After I finished cleaning the drool off my keyboard I heard her say, I took 2 by mistake last night and slept for 12 hours. Slept? I would have had my house cleaned and all my presents wrapped in that amount of time!!
I wonder if I'll ever be able to hear about someone's operation/injury/laced cough syrup without having this physical and mental reaction.
Does anyone not have this anymore???

It doesn't really phase me much any more, most of the time. Just last Friday this guy I know called me who I haven't talked to in a few years, and he takes Norco for his back pain, and he is very much in control with it...he takes 30-40 mg's a day and has been on it over a decade. Anyways he was calling to see if I wanted to buy any because he goes to a pain clinic now and he has tons of extra "stuff". I told him I have been clean for 20 months, and his reply was "I'll call you on Monday to see if you want anything". I thought, WTF, I just told you I was clean and how I suffered getting here, and you want to sell my your extra shit Fortunately he never called back.
I do think whenever I hear of someone having surgery or any pain problems, hmmm, I wonder what they got and how much, etc....or like my elderly neighbor just had a hip replacement and I called her this morning and she was saying she had no pain at all, I thought, yea, because you are probably loaded up on oxycodone!
It is freezing cold here today...had to break out the longjohns and a sweater, and going to attempt decorating my tree this afternoon. |

Thanks Mano, the "getting" thinking is almost automatic for me esp since I am almost hearing about surgery on a daily basis, but that ex-friend of yours is messed up! WTF is right..
I guess I just have this unrealistic hope that I'll stop this reaction somehow. Maybe that's where the once an addict always an addict came from??
It was so windy on my lunch walk, just can't wait to walk the beast tonight. Is there a sarcastic smiley I can use? Supposed to be even colder tomorrow.

Just got in from work.
Cheryl, honey, don't feel bad. My mouth STILL waters when I hear someone talk of opies, that they just had an operation, that they broke their leg, that they had dental work done. Yep, I INSTANTLY go to "Shit, I wonder what they got for pain!" lol I think I'll ALWAYS have that reaction. And you know what blows my mind even MORE???? If I hear about someone getting an operation or something and they say "Oh, the doctor wanted to give me Oxycontin, but I really didn't need it, so I just stuck with Tylenol." And I instantly think to myself "What are you crazy! It doesn't matter if you NEED them! You just GET them and take them! What's wrong with you!" lol And not ONLY do you get THEM and take THEM, but you ask for many, many refills...because the pain just won't go away!!
Normal people are weird.
So I don't know, mano says this reaction wears off. We shall see, I guess. But I think I will always salivate at the thought of narcotics.
I mean, even though I'm clean now, that doesn't mean that I suddenly hate all opiates. I still love those little fuckers. But I know I just can't have them. It sucks, honestly. But I'm defective and cannot be trusted with those things like the "normies." The lucky bastards.

As far as pain meds and other ppl?? I have this instant desire to run over and ask them if they need anything, while my eyes are going everywhere trying to scope out their pain meds bottle!! lol I almost have x-ray vision on reading what it is! lol

Like me? I didn't even GET a tree. I just taped a candy cane on my door and I'm good. And let me tell you, that little candy cane makes ALL the difference. It feels VERY much like Christmas around here!
